Flow With Pride Impact Hub Receives Special Accreditation to the 2026 UN Water Conference

Flow With Pride Impact Hub (FWPIH) has been granted Special Accreditation to the 2026 UN Water Conference, scheduled to take place from 8–10 December 2026 in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. This recognition marks a significant milestone in our organisation's journey, affirming our place at one of the most important global gatherings on water, sanitation, and human dignity.

The UN Water Conference brings together governments, civil society organisations, and institutions from around the world to advance the Sustainable Development Goal 6 agenda, ensuring access to clean water and sanitation for all. With Special Accreditation, FWPIH is now positioned to participate fully within the official, UN-accredited zones of the conference, including the opportunity to host an official side event.

Our proposed side event, "No Water, No Dignity: Menstrual Health, WASH, and the Girls Africa Is Leaving Behind," will bring evidence from West Africa directly into this global conversation. For too long, the link between water access and menstrual dignity has remained on the margins of WASH discourse. Yet for millions of girls across Nigeria and the wider region, the absence of clean water and adequate sanitation at school and at home is not a side issue. It is the difference between staying in school and dropping out, between dignity and shame, between hope and hopelessness.

This accreditation did not happen by accident. It is the product of a year of relentless work, from the documentary that first gave voice to the realities of period poverty in Nigeria, to the partnerships we have built with government ministries, civil society organisations, and international institutions who believe, as we do, that menstrual health is inseparable from the global water and sanitation agenda.

We see this as more than an invitation to attend a conference. It is a mandate to ensure that when the world speaks about water, it also speaks about the girls whose lives are shaped by its absence.

We are deeply grateful to our partners and supporters who have walked this journey with us, and we look forward to representing Nigeria, and West Africa, on this global stage.

The flow continues, and the world is now watching.

This work needs support to continue.
